The Asian Pacific Journal of Health Economics and Policy is an e-journal published by the Institute for Health Economics and Policy and the Japan Health Economics Association. This journal is a no-fee open-access peer-reviewed journal that accept articles on areas of health economics, health care policy, and health services research in a various context of healthcare systems, including non-Western settings. All the scholars in the area above are welcome to submit to the Journal.

* The APJHEP opens and invites a new category of manuscript “Policy Review in Asian Pacific Regions.” APJHEP newly opens a manuscript
category titled Policy Review in Asian Pacific Regions, in addition to existing categories of “Research Papers”, ” Research Notes”, and “Research Report.” The new category invites manuscripts describing country/region specific ongoing policy debate and its contextual background to
better share policy lessons across Asian Pacific regions/countries. The latest issue includes its first case on health sector reform in Lao PDR (【DOI】10.6011/apj.2021.02) For more details, see the instructions for authors.

* The APJHEP newly calls for papers featuring health economic impacts of COVID-19 pandemic and policy reactions under country/region-specific contexts to share policy lessons across Asian Pacific regions. The Journal prefers to empirical research papers on the issue, though not excludes other types of studies, e.g. macro/micro simulation-based estimation, political analysis, etc. The Journal invites submission from a wider range of researchers in Asian Pacific regions where the pandemic patterns, policy reactions, and their consequences are unique compared to those in Europe and the North America.

 

 

1 Enhancing research in the area of health economics, health care policy, and health services research in the context of healthcare system with a specific demographic, social, and politico-historical background.
2 Setting an academic platform for scholars and other interested parties including policy makers to enhance discussion for evidence-based health policy making.
3  Promoting open exchange of views, theories, and opinions among all concerned with the various dimensions of healthcare systems to seek for an innovating integration of related disciplines for efficient and fair healthcare systems.
